Hi! I'm Tony Waiters (tw@worldofsoccer.com),
I got your Email address from your local club site http://www.ottawaroyals.com/, so I hope you don't mind me saying Hello!
I've had the privilege of being involved in Canadian soccer since 1977 -- initially with the Vancouver Whitecaps of the NASL and later as the Olympic and World Cup coach for Canada (LA Olympics, 1984 and Mexico World Cup, 1986). During the last 15 years almost all of my work has been with community soccer organizations -- "clubs." Among other things, we have produced over 20 coaching books and videos.
Our company is called World of Soccer.
Our mission is to provide an on-going service to community (grass-roots) soccer organizations. Much of our material is free at www.worldofsoccer.com. We can give a little or a lot of help -- depending on your needs.
We already have four of our best-selling coaching books on-line for free.
As well, in three weeks time, we will launch a free on-line newsletter that will provide pertinent information surrounding club soccer with specific sections for coaches, referees, club executives, parents and, of course, players. Because of the privileges I have been afforded in North American and International soccer, I can tap into some of the most experienced people involved in youth soccer as our contributors.
If you are interested in receiving the newsletter just hit "Reply" to this Email and put "Yes" in the "Subject" line. It would help us if you added to the "Subject" line your area of interest, e.g., "Yes. Coach/Parent."
While we have developed our own programs and products, we have access to all sorts of soccer services -- mainly concerning soccer education and development. If we can't help directly, we know who can and advise you accordingly.
We also have access to some of the foremost development systems -- Coerver Coaching, Ajax training systems, Brazilian development systems, the Success in Soccer methods, Secrets of Soccer program -- via books, videos, CD-ROMS. As well we have our own Total Player Development(tm) program that includes the One-with-One(tm) for 3-, 4- & 5-year olds and their parents -- as well as the Micro SoccerŽ program for 6-, 7- and 8-Year olds. We have also developed a Parent Guide series.
We are the exclusive distributor in Canada for Soccer Learning Systems who have over 250 soccer videos.
Over the next few weeks we will further upgrade our website. Our video section is functioning, but still needs some refinement. You can always visit Soccer Learning Systems (www.soccervideos.com), as their video section -- for the moment -- is more sophisticated than ours.
Don't forget to hit "Reply" if you want to go on
our newsletter list. (If you want information, simply use his email: tw@worldofsoccer.com)
Good luck for the upcoming season.
Tony
